Ameriabank’s Team Wins in European Banking Contest

Ameriabank’s team has won the Online Bank Management Contest (OBMC) Europe 2011. This top-rank competition is hosted by SimArch NV in cooperation with New York Institute of Finance, World Savings Banks Institute and European Savings Banking Group. The online competition is based on FirstB@nk software application.


The contest is mostly concerned with asset and liability management in competitive market environment. The winner is selected based on comprehensive evaluation of a set of components such as shareholder value, risk management and strategy. The chief goal of the contest is to bring financial institutions from different regions together to develop professional knowledge, adopt international practice, exchange alternative advanced solutions and strengthen risk management practices.


OBMC Europe was conducted in 6 stages. The Ameriabank team won in terms of shareholders value and risk management as well as overall indicators. Among the competitors were top organizations such as ING, Dexia, CSOB. Last year’s winner Dexia Bank this year was represented by 3 teams.


OBMC 2011 was conducted in 5 regions worldwide (Europe, Americas, Asia and Africa). Winners of regional competitions will be invited to take part in global final to be held in August this year in New York. Ameriabank will be represented by a team of 4.
