Media Room

Ameriabank won the “Bank of the Year 2010” award by the Banker. The Banker (a Financial Times publication) every year recognizes the best banking performance in different countries and regions.

The Banker's 11th Bank of the Year Awards was presented in London on December 2 this year. The number of entries (about 500) for The Banker’s 11th annual global banking awards was the highest ever received which evidences that The Banker’s awards is well on the way to displaying total global coverage and is the premier industry competition for recognition in banking.
According to the award organizers Ameriabank was named the winner due to a number of advantages such as high growth rates, the suite of services ranging from consumer loans to advising on merger and acquisition (M&A) activity, the growth rates of assets and revenues and financing of more than $85m. The financing has been secured from the International Finance Corporation, the Dutch development finance company FMO, Germany’s DEG (KfW Bankengruppe member) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and has been directed to the renewable energy infrastructure or small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) lending schemes. The Banker’s panel of judges also appreciated the sophisticated risk management systems of the bank that had kept non-performing loans consistently on a low level, a merger with Cascade Bank, innovation and cutting-edge banking approaches.
Ameriabank received a certificate and a prestigious Bracken award, named after Brendan Bracken, the founding editor of The Banker and the chairman of the modern-day Financial Times from 1945 to 1958.
