Ameriabank’s ALM Team Qualified for the Final Phase of ALM International Contest

Ameriabank’s ALM team went through to the final phase of 4th Online Asset & Liability Management Competition among financial institutions and credit organizations. The competition is run for the 4th time up to date and has had a very successful outcome worldwide.
The competition is held by SimArch NV in the scope of financial services and education portal and is sponsored by FMO (THE NETHERLANDS DEVELOPMENT FINANCE COMPANY), DEG-KfW Bankengruppe (KfW banking group) and PROPARCO, a development financial institution based in France.  
The competition deals with the issues related to assets and liabilities, risk management, company’s strategy and shareholder value increase. The main objectives of the online competition are to enhance the skills of personnel active in the Asset & Liability Management function in banks and financial institutions, to offer alternative ways and opportunities to learn more about banking and the financial services industry, to create opportunities for the exchange of experience, ideas and networking and to strengthen the overall practice of risk management in financial institutions.
SimArch is a premium provider of ground-breaking learning solutions within the financial services sector creating vast educational opportunities for financial institutions. A number of organizations (ABN AMRO Bank, ING Bank, FirstRand Bank, Dexia Bank) had practitioners at SimArch NV.
28 institutions from 24 countries, including 6 entries from CIS countries, took part in the competition which is held in 6 phases. After more than two and a half months of stiff competition six institutions have been qualified for the final phase. They are: Ameriabank (Armenia), Lanka ORIX (Sri Lanka), FINCA TEAM 2 (Russia-Kyrgyzstan), Eastern Bank (Bangladesh), ProCredit Bank (Bulgaria) and Fidelity Bank (Ghana).          

The final phase will be held in Paris on January 19-21, 2011.
